part i.
Character name: Jo Harvelle
Fandom: Supernatural
Species (vampire, werewolf, what have you): Human
Character powers: N/A
part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion?
Yes. Jo's experience with the supernatural may allow for her to catch on at some point or realize something is off, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't be completely susceptible to mind-control or persuasion, much as she'd try to fight it off.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain.
Yes. Jo has no mental blocks that would prevent anyone from reading her mind if they really wanted to. She'll try to compartmentalize her emotions into manageable chunks, but Jo isn't that much of an angsty character and she's more impulsive than she is orderly. She's a little bit twisted, something she's admitted to herself, but she's more likely to put a snarky spin on that.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up?
Definitely. If I know I'm threading with a telepath, I'd further try to supply narratively what she's thinking if it helps with the thread.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours?
Guardedness, particularly in this setting. Jo would be mistrustful and a little more than wary, even if she's try to put up a strong front. Deep down there are insecurities and vulnerabilities there, if one rasps enough at the surface.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned?
The death of her father, her need to be a hunter, her experience with a demonized Sam, her fights with her mother, and her all-around experience of becoming a hunter and how it's toughened her. If anyone needs me to expound on any of these, I would be happy to do so once we're fleshing out the scenes.
part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos?
Not really! Jo's your average girl-next-door-tomboy sort of blonde. She carries herself confidently and so, despite her size, it might be noticed that she has a force of nature personality.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses?
Nope!
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability.
A hunter learns to push past what would be normal limits in terms of durability and pain, but other than that, there's nothing about her that sets her apart from anyone else.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly?
I'm cool with most things, and I'll likely play along with things so as long as there's OOC communication beforehand. If I'm going to tag her into a post made by a vampire, for example, and that's where the scene might be headed, I'd definitely contact the person.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry?
Definitely! I'd like a heads up and I'd like to know what exactly they would be shapeshifting into Jo for, just so I can be aware OOC-ly of any repercussions there might be for her IC-ly. Mistaken identity is a lot of fun though, so I'd be up for that.
part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all?
Jo's human, and that's how she'd look or feel to others.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses?
Yup! She wears a protection amulet and she knows how to ward off demons and other things, but that might not work in Baedal.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)?
Yes. >3
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event?
Honestly, off the top of my head, I'd say wrath and pride. Jo has an inclination for violence, and she's impulsive, reckless, and not a little bit headstrong. If there's a situation where she feels she's being undermined and threatened, her bite is just as bad as her bark. She'd also be more inclined to it if she's protecting someone she cares about. Jo's also got a lot of pride and is almost incapable of admitting she needs help, which she often does when she gets in way over her head.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot?
YES, PLEASE. :3
part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional.
I am against fourth-walling. I don't want anyone recognizing Jo unless they know her from her own canon. Likewise, she won't be recognizing anyone else from their canons either unless the mun expressedly wishes to. There's enough she's going to be dealing with, and I don't want 'discovering she's fictional' to be a part of that.
2. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances?
Open network posts are free to be threadjacked at any time. For private logs, if someone wants to join, I'd like a heads up OOC-ly first. I love including people as much as possible, so it's not that I would be opposed to it, just that I'd like to find a way to make this feasible and easier for all players involved.
3. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced?
Definitely! Jo's... Jo and she'd be pumping them for info as it is.
4. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)?
I can't think of anything right now but if something comes up, I'll let it be known and likewise, I would love if anyone let me know if they're uncomfortable so I can rectify that immediately. Jo doesn't really take crap, so she'd not be down with any of that. It'd be IC interaction though, which I always welcome.
5. Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey?
I'm happy to be here. :3
